]]>For our final Spring 2018 photo shoot, we headed to a historic mansion to bring the newest additions to our Melissa Sweet collection to life. Inspired by a bygone era, the vintage wedding dresses complement the ornate, antique details of the wedding venue.
First, a sunny courtyard with graphic tiled floors hosted the ceremony. Next, we headed into the estate for bridal portraits surrounded by antique furnishings, elegant architectural details and lush florals arrangements.
Melissa Sweet wedding dresses are known for their ethereal details and this collection is dreamy as ever. Whimsical silhouettes are finished with airy lace, 3D florals, soft colors, and romantic capes. The gown details are reminiscent of vintage wedding dresses but updated to look fresh for today’s bride. We couldn’t help but show how these dramatic trains would look floating down the aisle. Imagine the photo-ops!
Departing from the pastels often paired with vintage wedding dresses, we opted for black accents (from accessories to the bridal party) and a modern bridal manicure for an updated look. Black accessories were big on the runway last season and the inky hue adds a touch of edge to a delicate bridal look.
Catch up on our other brand photo shoots, David’s Bridal Collection and Galina. Then, register to be the first to know when the new gowns arrive.

]]>For our Spring 2018 Galina collection creative shoot, we packed up some beautifully simple wedding dresses and headed to the desert to create the most breathtaking outdoor wedding scenes. We envisioned an easy-going bride with a past of spontaneously packing up and hitting the road, sleeping under the stars, and living in the moment and brought that unscripted vibe to her wedding day. Set in Joshua Tree and surrounded by raw beauty, she’s ready to begin the next adventure with her partner and friends by her side.
Can we talk about this scenery? A nature-lovers dream! Rock formations and actual Joshua trees serves as the altar for this outdoor wedding. In addition to being picturesque, they provided our crew with some much needed shade in the stifling August heat.
Now, on to the dresses. For the bride, both gowns featured soft floral details, a trend you’ll find in many of the refreshingly simple wedding dresses in the Galina collection. The first dress has 3D florals scattered across the bodice and illusion corseted back. The second dress is an all-over, floral lace halter dress with a breezy back detail, perfect for a warm-weather wedding. The bridesmaids wore bold brights, including flowy jumpsuits (!), and printed heels, to complement the Galina bride’s relaxed, eclectic style.
Girl gang, out. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes featuring new wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses from our Spring collections.

]]>Each season, our creative team picks a new destination as the backdrop for the beautiful images you see on our website, social media, in our advertising and here on our blog! For fall? Mexico! We’re sharing a first look at our most recent campaign shoot, and more importantly, our newest collection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. We started the series with classic wedding dress from the David’s Bridal Collection followed by casual wedding dresses featured in a faux destination wedding. Then we shared an intimate look at dramatic Galina Signature wedding dresses, and we’re rounding out this portion of the series with romantic wedding dresses from the Melissa Sweet collection.
Our Melissa Sweet bride is thoughtful, poetic and a true romantic. We imagined her wedding on an enchanting garden estate surrounded by her closest friends and family. Hacienda Petac welcomed us with its historic charm and spellbinding natural environment. The artisanal and vintage-inspired details of each Melissa Sweet gown sparkled in the late afternoon sunlight.
Hacienda Petac’s grounds’ winding trails and lush greenery made it feel like a secret garden.
The bride’s first look features a lace A-line weding dress with floral applique, hand beading and a soft blush underlay, which gives the dress a warm glow. A lace cathedral veil with scalloped trim adds an heirloom quality to the look.
The floral theme and dimensional texture on this Melissa Sweet gown and lace trimmed veil mirrored the garden setting.
Next, the bride wears a linear lace wedding dress with sheer long sleeves and a deep V neck. Paired with an airy raw edge cathedral veil and vintage inspired accessories, the bride looks effortlessly elegant.
To complement the romantic wedding dresses, bridesmaids wear romantic bridesmaid dresses with soft flowy silhouettes and feminine details, like lace and ruffles. Delicate pearl headbands add a touch of whimsy.
Matching hair accessories work when bridesmaids wear mismatched dresses.
The Fall 2017 Melissa Sweet photo shoot was especially fun because it featured a full bridal party – bride and groom, bridesmaids, groomsman, Mother of the Bride and even two adorable flower girls!
The crew putting finishing touches on one of the flower girls. Her sash coordinates with the bridesmaid dresses’ color palette and lace flats match the lacy dress.
In the final scene, we created a family-style table setting. Twinkle lights and woven lanterns added to the magical mood. The bride wears a strapless tiered chiffon A-line wedding dress with sequinned lace bodice and beautiful movement – perfect for dancing the night away!
Behind-the-scenes staging an evening reception scene in a shady nook with extra lighting to enhance the glow.
Brides seeking romantic, vintage-inspired details and a touch of shimmer will fall in love with the Melissa Sweet collection.

We’re sharing a first look at our most recent campaign shoot, and more importantly, our newest collection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. We started the series with a look at classic wedding dress from the David’s Bridal Collection followed by casual wedding dresses featured in a faux destination wedding. Now we’re sharing an intimate look at the dramatic wedding dresses in the new Galina Signature collection.
Our Galina Signature bride is independent, confident and a bit daring. For the first scene, we set her alone in her dressing room for a few moments of reflection before her ceremony. Hacienda Katanchel, once a 17th century palace and now a deluxe hotel, set the stage for curve-hugging silhouettes, sexy illusion details and glamorous beading.
What’s hotter, the tropical jungle climate of the Yucatán or this sultry bride?
The first look features a plunging illusion bodice lace wedding dress with a sheath silhouette. The nude mesh lining on this dramatic wedding dress creates a barely-there backdrop for beautiful beaded lace. A gorgeous open illusion back trimmed with scalloped lace makes this dress dazzling from front and back.
Taking in a tranquil courtyard at historic Hacienda Katanchal.
Next, our bride dons a beaded illusion and crepe sheath wedding dress and is joined by one of her bridesmaids. At first glance, this chic crepe gown is relatively unadorned; a closer look reveals illusion panels with swirling beading on the sides, back and train making this one of our favorite dramatic wedding dresses.
A deep green hue (Juniper) is a bit unexpected but just as sophisticated as black or navy.
In contrast to the captivating details of both Galina Signature wedding dresses, bridesmaids wear long dresses with minimalist details making for a sophisticated and modern bridal party.
This collection is made for the trendy bride who wants to make a bold statement on her wedding day. We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes from set soon! In the meantime, check out our new Fall wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses!

We’re sharing a first look at our most recent campaign shoot, and more importantly, our newest collection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. We started the series with a look at classic wedding dress from the David’s Bridal Collection. Next up is an imagined destination wedding featuring casual wedding dresses from our Galina and DB Studio collections.
We brought our free-spirited and playful bride to the vibrant streets of the city of Merida. The sun-washed buildings and varied architecture provide a laid-back atmosphere for a breezy, fun-filled destination wedding. Throughout the shoot, our bride wears an assortment of lacy gowns and dresses suitable for a more casual affair. Paired with artisanal accessories and colorful accents, the looks reflect her eclectic personal style.
Pink shoes feel fresh paired with a floral lace wedding dress in an easy silhouette.
In the first scene, she’s filled with excitement and anticipation as she steals an intimate “first look” with her groom before the ceremony. The bride wears a vintage-inspired lace wedding dress with short sleeves with a open back detail. It’s almost like the bridal equivalent of a T-shirt! Note the groom’s sneaks to match the relaxed vibe.
It was extra easy to capture the models’ chemistry since they were a real-life couple.
Next, our bride and her bridal party meet up with a band for a festive stroll celebrating the newlyweds. The bride wears a flower lace V-neck wedding dress with empire waist and the bridesmaids wear mismatched bridesmaids dresses in bold hues.
Making a scene on the streets of Merida during our Fall 2017 campaign shoot.
Finally, the bride waits for her groom by their getaway car in a plunging lace halter ball gown, ready to embark on their next adventure.
How fun is this pink and green vintage Volkswagen beetle?
This shoot has us dreaming of a destination wedding! More behind-the-scenes featuring new wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses from our Fall collections coming soon.

We’re sharing a first look at our most recent campaign shoot, and more importantly, our newest collection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. First up are classic wedding dresses from the David’s Bridal Collection.
Optimistic and approachable, the David’s Bridal bride is a gal everyone wants to be friends with. Her style is reflected in gowns that stand the test of time: polished shapes, feminine details and practical touches (think pockets!). This year, our photo shoot takes the David’s Bridal bride to a gorgeous church in the Yucatan region of Mexico. The architecture mimics the structural lines in our namesake collection, while the charming rose colored walls are the perfect backdrop for our burgundy bridesmaids and coordinating florals. Simply put, this destination provided beautiful contrast for our effortlessly elegant bride.
Gorgeous architecture at Convento de San Bernardino, the set for our Fall 2017 David’s Bridal Collection photo shoot.
First, dress one is a beautifully simplistic satin ball gown featuring a V-neck and cumberbund style waist. When paired with matching ‘maids dresses in this season’s hottest color, wine, and a trendy high-low hem, this bridal party is both timeless and modern.
Looking lovely in a satin ball gown (it’s under $600!) and wine bridesmaid dresses.
Next, with the help of the team behind the beauty, our bride changed into another fave from our Fall 2017 David’s Bridal Collection. An illusion lace and satin mermaid wedding dress that offers a bit more coverage with a lace bodice and cap sleeves. And when paired with a rhinestone sash and mantilla veil, this look will never go out of style.
Taking the phrase ‘it takes a village’ to a whole new level for a picture-perfect second look at the Fall 2017 David’s Bridal Collection photo shoot.
So beautiful, right? Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes featuring new wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses from our Fall collections.
